Using abilities like farting and firecrackers to interact with the environment brought a playful nature to the exploration - I found myself curious if I could do something like ignite a stove with one, and feed the flame with another, and lo and behold, it worked! This felt good in the confines of the strip club, and I hope it feels even better in a full open-world version of the town. I also really dug how exploring the strip club and solving the puzzles felt almost like an adventure game, albeit most of the items that act as solutions to the puzzles involve some form of bodily fluids. The writing, delivery, and art all combine to make the game, once again, feel like an extended interactive episode of the series. As with Stick of Truth, this game absolutely nails the humor and esthetic of the iconic cartoon. Yeah, I completely agree with everything Alanah said. With most of the jokes and aesthetic already perfected in the first game, Ubisoft have doubled down on RPG elements, including full character customization and classes. That’s easy enough, if a little finicky at times, but The Fractured But Whole’s significantly enhanced loot and crafting systems make it much more rewarding than they were in the first game. It makes you feel like you're hand-crafting the humour yourself.With this year’s E3 demo of The Fractured But Whole, I started off by farting (possibly more, it sounded kind of wet) in the men’s bathroom of a seedy strip-club. Instead of just making certain characters funny, it makes you feel like you’re hand-crafting the humour yourself. Breakable objects in the environment can be blown up with a combination of firecrackers and farts, because, of course, farts are flammable. If you interact with a toilet, you’re prompted to deliver an enormous fart in order to be able to get off. Outside of just witty lines and show-accurate cutscenes, The Fractured But Whole delivers in situational comedy, putting players in utterly ridiculous, uncomfortable circumstances that almost make them the butt of a joke. Successfully executing humour in games is difficult, because so much of comedy is timing. In my opinion, that makes it a delightfully authentic-feeling follow up to an already on-point South Park game. There’s a rhythm-based, lapdance mini-game in which you have to twerk and tap a button to fart on a man’s lap simultaneously, and that’s one of the least vulgar parts.
